Numerous medications are available to effectively treat the symptoms of Parkinson's disease. Unfortunately, like all drugs, they can have adverse effects, which do not occur in all patients. We will discuss examples to better understand the biological mechanisms and individual factors predictive of the onset of these undesirable effects, a major challenge for better management of each patient in a perspective of individualized precision medicine.
